The shape of the cup, inspired by the organic lines of the coffee bean, provides a wider flow of liquid so that the coffee hits the sides of your tongue as you drink. This immediately gives a feeling of something fresh and juicy. To provide a better drinking experience, Tim Wendelboe wanted espresso cups that are larger and heavier than traditional ones. This helps the coffee to cool down faster and maintain the optimal drinking temperature.
» Although we love acidity in our coffees we also want it to be balanced by sweetness. That is why we chose a slight pink color for this cup, as we know from our friend and neuroscientist Fabiana Carvalho's research that coffee drunk from pink cups is perceived as sweeter and less acidic by the drinker. We would typically serve washed Ethiopian, Kenyan or an elegant Geisha coffee in this cup. «
